Employees shared crafts and swapped stories with area seniors
Merced, CA (January 31st, 2020) – Last weekend employees from Supreme Boats volunteered at the Hampshire Retirement Community to visit with residents for an afternoon of arts and crafts. The Hampshire is a Holiday Retirement Living Community located in Merced, CA. The community caters to elderly individuals offering independent living with all inclusive amenities and services.
Saturday afternoon from 10am to 12pm seven members of the Supreme team visited with residents in small groups where they swapped stories and created Valentines Day wreaths in an arts and crafts session. Conversation was lively as both employees and residents alike enjoyed each other’s company for a few hours of fun.
This was the fourth year that Supreme Boats has partnered with the Hampshire in one of the organization’s many efforts to make lives better throughout the local community. As a Correct Craft company making lives better is a paramount value at Supreme Boats and this partnership is just one of the many service opportunities employees can volunteer for throughout the course of the year. Other volunteer opportunities include Habitat for Humanity projects, lake clean up days, the annual lake day at Camp Sunshine Dreams, Toys for Tots, Christmas with Dignity through the Winton Life Line Community Center, the annual Correct Craft service trip, and more.
When asked about the visit President of Supreme Boats Paul Singer said, “We have been going to the Hampshire for four years now and with each visit our team feels a renewed sense of spirit. Spending time and swapping stories with residents can often mean more than we ever know,”
When asked about the partnership Event Coordinator Shell Buchner had this to say, “We’re looking forward to our next visit in May! During that visit we’ll be participating in ‘bean bag baseball’, in fact one of our favorite residents mentioned they’ll be gunning for us!”
