Isabella’s Wake the World Brings Smiles and Sunshine to All

VANCOUVER, WA (AUGUST 22, 2019) – Earlier this month Supreme Boats was thrilled to participate in Isabella’s Wake the World 2019. Held at Marine Park on the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington, over 27 foster families were hosted by a multitude of boat owners who dedicated their entire day to showing them fun in the sun behind boats of all different shapes and sizes. Supreme family members Eric and Nayda Borst, John Hinkle, Mike and Lisa Ehlinger, and Gerry Oppliger were just some of the amazing boat owners who volunteered their time. All in all, there were 31 boats on the water including the Supreme ZS232 and the Supreme S238.

Isabella’s Wake the World was founded in honor of young Isabella Smith who was lost tragically in 2014. The event organizers channel the inspiration received from her short life into an event that benefits foster families with a fun filled day of water sports and community. Wake the World partner’s closely with organizers to help bring together all the necessary pieces needed to honor the amazing life of Isabella as well as positively impact the lives of foster families in state of Washington. Whether it’s wake boarding, wake-surfing, knee boarding, water-skiing, tubing, swimming or just hanging out in a boat, the organization provides a community-building safe event for kids who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity.

This year was the 5th anniversary of Isabella’s Wake the World and was one of the largest turnouts to date. Over 90 foster kids enjoyed sunshine and fun during an unforgettable day. Lunch and dinner were both provided thanks to Jimmy Johns and Chick-Fil-A and all kiddos in attendance received backpacks, courtesy of Outback Steak House, towels, flip flops, tee shirts, and sunglasses. Needless to say it was an incredible event that wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic team of volunteers who worked hard to make sure the day was something special.

The group of Supreme’s in attendance resulted in an abundance of ‘Supreme Smiles’ as many participants were wake surfing for their very first time. It’s hard not to enjoy yourself on the world’s best wave. Amy Mauzy VP of Marketing at Supreme Boats stated, “We were honored to be involved in Isabella’s Wake the World this year. We are blessed to have this chance to give back to a community that may not have easy access to water sports. We hope we are making their lives better through this caring exposure to the boating lifestyle. We know Wake the World makes our lives better and we hope to continue to support these events for many years to come.”

If you’re not familiar, since 2008 Wake the World has been caring through sharing the love of water sports. The nonprofit organization is composed of a group of boat owners who aim to provide watersports opportunities to abandoned, abused and neglected children, as well as individuals with physical handicaps and our wounded warriors. In 2008 there was one Wake the World event, this year there will be over 60 events in 28 states and Canada. The goal is to provide families a day of fun doing whatever they want out on the water, an experience that brings joyous smiles and a sense of belonging in a way that helps kids keep in mind that they are loved by many. Isabella’s Wake the World and other Wake the World events wouldn’t be possible without the hundreds of volunteers and the countless hours that go towards putting these events together.
