The family-owned and newly remodeled marina is perfectly located in a resort area in Northwest Michigan serving both families and water sport enthusiasts. Owned and operated by Lewis and Susie Cooper, Elk Rapids Marina was purchased by the pair and completely revamped during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seeking a meaningful project they could embark on together, the Coopers wanted to create a welcoming environment where families can gather, explore the outdoors, and enjoy boating.

With this being their fourth year in business, the Coopers bring diverse backgrounds in business to their joint venture. Susie, who transitioned from a career in telecommunications after her youngest child graduated, also owns a local shop called “The Dam Shop,” located near the pair’s dealership. The Dam Shop is a one stop shop for coffee, lunch, dinner, and boating supplies. Guests can even grab a drink at The Dam Shop bar! The area is rich in shopping and a stone’s throw away from Elk Rapids Marina.

Lewis, a wine and spirit wholesaler, brings his lifelong passion for boating to the marina, ensuring a customer-centric approach to their operations. Elk Rapids Marina features 117 slips, catering to both seasonal and year-round residents.

The partnership with Centurion & Supreme Boats is a natural fit for Elk Rapids Marina, given the area’s popularity among both families and athletes. The marina is situated in a prime location known for its summer homes and vibrant local community, making it an ideal spot for boating activities, including wakeboarding and surfing.
